Methodist Boys High School was established in 1878, Built by the African Members of the Wesleyan Methodist Mission in 1878.
Fondly called MBHS by its old boys, this is an educational institution that provides qualitative education to all by inculcating high standards of education into the daily lives of its students.

One of the oldest secondary school in Nigeria, second only to CMS Grammar School, this is an all-boys prestigious school with a long history of academic excellence and a serene and beautiful learning environment conducive to produce the best caliber of future leaders. Spurned by the success of the Anglican CMS Gramar School, the desire of the African members of the Methodist communion for a similar institution was stimulated and led to the establishment of the school 18 years after.
