ABOUT Lagos Lagoon is the largest of the 10 lagoons in Lagos State, Nigeria. It is about 50 km long and 3 - 13 km wide. With an average depth of 2-4 metres, the lagoon is somewhat shallow. However, at the entrance of the Commodore channel, the lagoon is about 10 metres deep and this is the deepest part of the lagoon.   The Lagos Lagoon has three segments: Epe Division, the Metropolitan end and the Lagos Harbour. Also, the lighthouse creek, the Badagry creek and the waterway that link Lagos to Porto- Novo, and Cotonou are situated on the western side of the lagoon.
