Initially built as a Military Hospital to cater for the British Army during the Colonial days, this is a state government-owned hospital that provides services in General Outpatient, Inpatient treatment, General Medicine, Surgery, Ophalmology, Orthopaedics, Physiotherapy, Maternity, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Emergency Services, Nursing Care, Pharmacy, Pathology, Blood Bank, Radiology, Chest clinic, Dental Care, Physical Medicine, and a Medical Rehabilitation centre. It once served as a training center for Pathologists, Technologists, Technicians and Assistants. For over a century, it has continuously rendered qualitative services to millions of patients, irrespective of race, creed, colour, social status, religion etc.
