Following a signed agreement between the Federal Ministry of Health and Adamawa State Government to take over the then Yola Specialist Hospital Yola which was a 550 bed facility, this medical centre was established. It began full Clinical Services and continued to serve as a referral facility to other hospitals (private and public) within the state. However, the Centre finally relocated to its permanent site and commenced services with a 200 bed capacity. The facility is not only fully furnished but provided with state-of-the-art equipment in the theatres, laboratories, radio-diagnosis, Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), Dialysis Unit etc, which are intended to provide patient-friendly and conducive working environment for its staff.
