This is a very safe location.
What To Bring
Before heading to Lagos Island Maternity Hospital, here are some helpful things to take along with you:
Your medical reports and documents
An overnight bag in case of emergency
The hospital boasts of about 215 beds and 32 cots. It features some state-of-art facilities including theatres, recovery rooms, intensive care units, emergency theatre facilities, and labour room. It also has a Family Planning Section, an Heart-to-Heart centre, Pharmacies and even a canteen where free food is given for admitted patients.
There are three blocks in the hospital named A, B and C. Blocks A and B are in use while Block C is temporarily closed for renovation. The popularity of the hospital has made expansion necessary to accommodate the rising population that visit the hospital. It is well-managed and kept clean always though. And the staff are very warm and will go out of their way to help provide comfort in any way they can. Really lovely maternity centre.
I recommend Lagos Island Maternity. It is a premier and still the best standard maternity hospital in West Africa. I was born there and my daughter too so I am talking of two generations of experience. I once had my Student Hospital Work Experience there also. The place is very good for both maternity and gynaecological cases. Well funded and in central Lagos for easy accessibility-Feyi Taofeek
