About The National Pension Commission The National Pension Commission, PenCom, is the government agency charged with the regulation of activities concerning the remuneration of staff in Nigeria. It ensures supervision of the Nigerian Pension Industry to ensure that retirement benefits are paid as and when due.
History of The National Pension CommissionThe National Pension Commission was established in 2004 by the Pension Reform Act under the leadership of then President, Olusegun Obasanjo. It was further updated by the 2014 Pension Reform Act. This body was borne out of the necessity to harmonize, organize, supervise and regulate the payment of pensions and benefits to Nigerian Workers.
