The Nigerian Press Council is a government body created to serve as a buffer between the government and the masses.It serves to provide ethical press standards through thorough research,proper training of the journalists,accreditation of programmes in tertiary institutions amongst others.Its head office is located at Nigerian Press Council, No. 26, Bissau Street, Zone 6, Wuse,P.M.B. 377, Garki, Abuja.

History of The Nigerian Press Council

The Nigerian Press Council (NPC) is a parastatal established by the Nigerian Press Council Act No. 85 of 1992 (as amended in Act 60 of 1999) to ensure the maintenance of high professional standards for the Nigerian Press.It sees to the maintenance of ethical Press standards and proper regulatory rules.
