History of Okonni Wildlife Sanctuary
It is home to the rare white throat monkey.
Built by Nigerian Conservation Foundation and the Edo State Government. in 1985.
Jointly owned by the Edo government and the Nigerian conservation fund, the Okonni wild life sanctuary is home to a variety of endangered primates including chimpanzees and white-throated monkeys.Other animal attractions include bush-babies, buffaloes, porcupines and red river hogs.
This is a very safe location.
