Virgin Atlantic is a British airline, and it is the trade name of Virgin Atlantic Airways Limited and Virgin Atlantic International Limited. Its head quarters is in Crawley, United Kingdom. The airline was established in 1984 as British Atlantic Airways. It was originally intended by its co-founders Randolph Fields and Alan Hellary to fly between London and the Falkland Islands. The first flight by Virgin Atlantic was from London Gatwick to Newark Liberty International Airport took place on 22 June 1984. Unaccompanied Minor Service The unaccompanied minor service is offered by Virgin Atlantic to children travelling alone. Children between 5 and 11 years, according to the airlines policy cannot travel alone, and hence would need to subscribe to the service. Children aged between 12 and 18 years may choose to use the unaccompanied minors service, if they wish. It is not compulsory.
