About Petroleum Training Institute

PTI as it is fondly called was established by the federal government of Nigeria as a requirement for being a member of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Companies in 1973. The institute to train indigenous middle-level manpower to meet the labour force demands of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria and West Africa. Some of the courses offered at the Petroleum Training Institute include Petroleum Engineering, Petroleum and  Gas Processing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, Petroleum Marketing Technology, Science Laboratory Technology and so on. On completion of the degree at the institute, General Welding Certificates, National Diploma and Higher National Diploma certificates are awarded.
