Federal College of Education, Zaria was established in 1962.

Built by Federal Government of Nigeria in 1962.

Formerly known as the Advanced Teachers’ College Zaria, this is one of the apex teaching training institutes in the country boasting of a high and sought-after calibre of graduates.

    One of the recommended Advanced Teachers Training Colleges by the Ashby Commission, this co-educational college trains teachers for the service of the dynamic society through renewed research and acceptable global practices in teaching profession. The college was temporarily sited at the present site of the Kaduna State Polytechnic (Annex Campus) before a need for expansion prompted its move to its present site in 1973.
