It was established in 2008 by Genesis Group, a Nigerian groups of businesses founded in 1991. Since its creation, the Genesis Deluxe Cinema has grown to be one of the bests in Lagos and hundreds of people visit the cinema every year for a unique movie experience. In 2011, it grew to have 9 cinemas, 35 screens and over 5000 seats in Lagos, Port-Harcourt, Warri, Owerri, Abuja and Asaba. The Lagos branch of the cinema is situated in the famous Palms Mall Lekki.
