The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria is a parastatal of the Federal Government of Nigeria established by Act Cap. No143 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. The Council is the sole regulatory body for all cells of Nurses and Midwives in Nigeria. The function of Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria are related to those of designing, implementing and evaluating various Nursing educational programmes, of indexing, examination, monitoring standards of Nursing practice in the Country, registration, certification and licensure of professional Nurses. License renewal is done every three (3) years, currently, the renewal fee is Ten thousand five hundred naira(N10, 500) for three years, penalty of five thousand two hundred and fifty naira(N5, 250) for each year of default.Safety
