The beach covers about 1000 hectares of land, it is for conservation, recreation, and research. The beach is currently managed by a non governmental organisation called the Nigeria Conservation Foundation (NCF) but that is expected to change in the future. Finima beach which is located on Finima street, Bonny Island at the southern edge of the Rivers state houses various oil companies including Royal Dutch Shell, Mobil, Chevron, Agip, and Elf among others.Safety
