Port Harcourt International Airport.
Known as the third busiest airport in the country after Murtala Mohammed International Airport and Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, it consists of a single terminal with separate facilities for international and domestic flights.
This is a very safe location.
Before heading to Port Harcourt International Airport, here are some helpful things to take along with you:
Currently undergoing extensive remodeling and upgrades to modernize it, this airport serves the oil-rich state. In 2015, CNN published a report by travel website 'The Guide to Sleeping in Airports' which ranked it as the worst airport in the world. This promptly drew public attention, and with the many other controversies surrounding it, pressure has been mounted for it to either be closed and rebuilt or be shut permanently.
The terminals are presently non-existent as make-shift canopy centers have been erected for flight interactions. Although the FAAN insist the airport has been unfairly judged because it is operating while undergoing rehabilitation, users believe it might continue to top the list for worst airports till the government really speed up activities and give it a facelift. However, as it is the only airport serving Port Harcourt, it is still much in use and efforts are made to ease comfort as much as possible.
