About Nigerian Communications Commission

Nigerian Communications Commission is an independent body that regulates the telecommunications industry in Nigeria. It  regulates the supply of telecommunications services and facilities, promotes and  enhances competition between service providers, and sets performance standards for telephone and telecommunications services in Nigeria.

History of Nigerian Communications Commission

The Commission was created in November 1992 under Decree number 75 under the Miltary government of then Head of State Gen. Ibrahim Babangida. It continued to oversee affairs until 2003 when the enabling bill was updated and replaced with the Nigerian Communications Act.
