I stayed at 520 hotel in Calabar on 23/1/2019. The room number allotted to me was 14. This is to bring to the notice of all, that I had a very bad experience at hotel 520 and I feel cheated. The room rate for Room no 14 should have been taken as N15,000 but the person at reception collected N20,000. I will brief you all of the incident. I checked into the hotel on 23rd Jan 2019 (Evening) stayed there for 1 night. The receptionist asked me to pay for the room in advance, which is a practice there. When I gave my debit card, I was told that the POS is not working and hence I needed to pay cash. I went to the ATM and brought cash and paid the person at reception. The next day morning, there was a different lady at reception when I was checking out. I asked her for my bill copy and to my surprise, the printed bill showed amount of N15,000. When I asked her why the bill stated was different, she asked me as to how much I paid? When I told her that amount paid was N20,000, she called the person who I believe must be the person who was on duty previous day. They both discussed something and then the lady gave me a manual receipt of N20,000 instead of printed bill. She told me that there is some system error, hence bill is not coming with correct amount. Yesterday, I met one of my colleague who has stayed at Hotel 520 earlier. While discussing with him, I came to know that room rate at Hotel 520 is N15,000 only and not N20,000. This was a very bad experience I had at my very first stay in the hotel. I will not be staying there again and nor will I recommend any body to stay at that place.
