Cheap Stay

Cheap in terms of the bill, but the attitude of the staff made my one night stay less than a complete nightmare. They tried to the best of their ability to polish the turd they'd been vested with managing. The receptionist/manager in particular was friendly and eager to help out every time I went to the front desk to complain about one facility or service and I complained severally. For a stay that lasted only from 6pm to 3am (9hrs) waiting for a flight at MMIA, the following issues were dealt with one way or the other: 1. Wet, dirty and tiny shower. You practically bathe into a bucket provided for the guest. The shower curtain is dirty and doesn't fully cover the door of the bath enclosure causing water to splash unto the floor. The window beside the bath showed months of scum accumulation without a scrub. 2. Due to the size and the nature of the shower curtain, the floor is always wet and irritating. This is worsened by the fact that there's no shower mat on stepping out of the bath or bathroom. 3. At some point around bedtime, the toilet couldn't flush because there was no water supply. I had to take the shower bucket to the front desk to get water to flush after using the toilet. 4. The air conditioner in the room was left on for about two hours while I was out looking for a printer shop but when I returned, I realized the room was even stuffier than I left it, so I went to the front desk to request for a stand fan instead. The fan unfortunately stopped working about over an hour into operation and I had to go and call his attention to it again before it could be resuscitated. 5. The room wasn’t properly cleaned after the last guest left, so I had to call the attention of the manager to the waste bin inside the room which still had refuse in it from the last occupant of the room. We had a bit of a disagreement about whether or not the bed sheet had also been changed but he insisted that had been done, just that the sheets are old. 6. Security wasn’t top notch either. While I was there, there was a door leading to the corridor where my room was that had been removed completely without anything put in its place for the mean time to prevent an intruder from outside. And the door didn’t close too well either, you had to lock it to be sure it had closed. Even with the door locked, you can easily get it opened with little force. So, if you decide to stay there, keep your valuables close to you. Conclusively, the hotel is not in any way, resembling what a hotel should be at all. It is closer to a rundown bed and breakfast than a hotel, and it is not recommended for someone looking for a comfortable and decent stay either before a flight or just around that axis. It is for someone only looking for a place to pass the time not minding little inconveniences here and there.
