The Chad Basin National Park in Abuja is a combination of the former Chingurmi-Dugoma Game Reserve, Gorgoram and Zurgun Baneri Forest Reserves, and Bulature Oasis. The total land area is about 2,258 km2.
The park serves an important purpose for fishermen, farmers, and grazers.
The Chingurmi-Dugoma sector has flood-plain wetlands that attract waterbirds such as; Guinea Fowl, Black-crowned Crane, Demoiselle Crane, Arabian Bustard, Aviles bustard, African-collared Dove, Yellow-breasted Barbet, Black-scrub Robin, Chestnut-bellied Starling, Sudan-Golden Sparrow, White Stork, and other wildlife.
