The Netherlands is a safe and multicultural environment with low study costs which makes it an incredibly attractive and affordable destination for your studies abroad. The Netherlands is one of the first countries to offer international study programmes taught entirely in English to foreign students. There were over 85,000 international students enrolled in the Netherlands during the 2018-2019 study year.

There are almost 50 universities in The Netherlands that Nigerians can choose from to study in.

  • Check if you have to pay the Statutory tuition fee (for EU/EEA students and a few exceptions for non-EU/EEA) or the Institutional tuition fee (usually, for non-EU/EEA students)
  • Look for scholarship opportunities to cover your study expenses.
  • Check if you need a student visa. In this case, you will need to prepare necessary documents in advance.

It takes about 30 days to process a Netherlands student visa.
