Zuma rock is the symbol of Abuja.  It is actually found in the state of Niger, North of Abuja. Keen observers say they can recognise a person’s face on the rock and locals believe that due to the human face, the rock has mysterious powers.
Zuma Rock is also known as the “Gateway of Abuja” as it stands on the outer edge of the city’s limits, marking the official edge of the Federal Capital Territory. The rocks are further shaped by the powerful erosive forces of water, which smoothed out the rough edges of the exterior and created the smooth outlines seen today.
It conspicuously appears to swallow the Abuja- Kaduna express way, rising ostentatiously to an height of about 700m. The Zuma Rock Nigerian village constructed behind the rock has constitutes a vantage spot to servour the the wonders of Zuma; it’s also fitted with chalets and other facilities for relaxation.
Zuma Rock remains the unquestionable watchman of the F.C.T. as long as her face remains.
