Yaba’s market used to be a weakly-regulated haggling point with a train-track running right in its middle, but with the creation of the Tejuosho Model Market, Yaba market has been cut back signifncantly and fragmented over time.

The market is popular as a place to buy second-hand clothes, popularly known as *bend-down-select, *and it is located just behind Yaba bus stop itself.

People shopping here can find a lot of things- bags, clothes, interior decoration, and even food items. Despite the presence of the train tracks, it is still relatively safe: people are warned beforehand that the train is coming, and the track is automatically shut down for oncoming cars until the train cars have made their way uneventfully across.
