1. Identity what kind of traveler you are: There are three major kinds of Ukrainian visas, so knowing the type you need should be your first step!

The Ukrainian Visa types are: Transit, Short Term, and Long term.

-Transit Visa: This Visa is issued to foreign citizens who are passing through Ukraine to another destination. It is usually valid for 5 days, and yeah! You can apply for multiple entries within the period of one year.

- Long-term one-entry visa (VD): It is a petition-based visa, which could be issued for applicants entering Ukraine with the purpose of obtaining documents permitting stay in Ukraine for the period of longer than 90 days. Within 45 days from the moment of entry into Ukraine, the holder of a long-term one-entry visa should legalize his status in Ukraine. 2. Get a Valid Passport This should not be much of an assignment. It just needs you to get to the passport office within your vicinity.
