National Museum of Colonial History

If you are looking for some relics of colonialism, the National Museum of Colonial History is where you should be. You would find the administrative records of Lord Lugard, his properties and relics. You would learn so much from this museum.

Mount Patti

One famous landscape in Kogi State is the Mount Patti where you would find the Lokoja Confluence Cable Network (TV and Radio) and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). To see the panoramic view of Lokoja, the capital city, you just have to conquer this mountain to its top.

The Holy Trinity Primary school is the first primary school that was built in the northern Nigeria in 1904. This was one of the places that helped education to spread around the country. It is a shadow of its self because of neglect but it is worth visiting.

The Iron of Liberty is the relics of slave trade. It is a famous tourist spot in the state. It was said that if a slave gets the opportunity of laying the hand on the iron, freedom is quickly restored. It is situated where BishopA Ajayi Crowther was buried at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Lokoja.

Confluence Carnival

Today, the confluence carnival that began in 2013 has become an annual event that brightly shows off the culture and tradition of the people of Kogi. The carnival is for the locals and attracts so many people to it. You would see the food fair, youth/children fiesta, street parade and face of carnival.
